Product Description
Lead Seal Security Screws/ Tamper Proof & Evident/ Utility Meters & Valves/ Zinc Plated/ Batch Orders Guanbiao Hardware
Secure meters & valves with our lead sealing screws. Tamper-evident design requires lead seal wire. Zinc plated steel construction. For utilities, gas, water & inventory control. Provides visual tamper proofing.
Ensure the integrity of critical access points with our reliable **Lead Sealing Screws**. These specialized security fasteners feature a **unique hollow head or integrated collar** designed to accommodate lead seal wire. Once installed and the seal wire is threaded through and crimped with a lead seal, any attempt to remove the screw necessitates cutting or breaking the seal, providing immediate **visual evidence of tampering**. Made from durable steel with protective coatings, they offer a cost-effective and highly visible security solution for utility meters, valves, control panels, and inventory security.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS |

Strength | Sufficient for clamping (e.g., Grade 4.8 equivalent) |
Seal Wire Hole Diameter | Typically 1.5mm, 2.0mm (for standard lead seal wire) |
Lengths | Standard: 12mm, 16mm, 20mm, 25mm, 30mm. |
Primary Uses & Applications:
* Electricity, Gas, and Water meter security (preventing unauthorized access).
* Securing valves on pipelines or tanks.
* Inventory control seals on shipping containers, trailers, or warehouse doors.
* Access panels on control cabinets (telecom, industrial).
* Sealing fire extinguisher or safety equipment cabinets.
* Taxi meters & fare collection boxes.
* General tamper-evident applications requiring visual verification.
Surface Treatment/Finishes:
* **Zinc Plating (Clear, Yellow, or Blue/White Chromate):** Standard corrosion protection for indoor/utility environments. Yellow chromate offers good visibility.
* **Phosphate & Oil:** Mild corrosion resistance and lubricity.
How to Use:
1. **Install Screw:** Use the appropriate driver (slotted, Philips, hex key) to tighten the screw securely into place, clamping the components (e.g., meter cover).
2. **Thread Seal Wire:** Cut a sufficient length of **lead seal wire**. Thread one end through the hole in the screw head/collar. Bring both ends of the wire together.
3. **Insert Seal:** Slide a **lead seal** (usually a small, soft lead cylinder) onto the two ends of the wire.
4. **Crimp Seal:** Use **lead seal pliers** to compress the lead seal cylinder tightly onto the wires, permanently locking them together. Ensure the seal is embossed with a unique number or logo if required.
5. **Verification:** The seal and wire now loop through the screw head. Any removal attempt requires cutting the wire or destroying the seal, leaving obvious evidence. *The original drive is now obstructed.*
6. **Removal:** Requires **cutting the seal wire** and using the original drive type. **Destroys the tamper evidence.**
