Product Description

Truss Head Solid Aluminum Alloy Rivets - Anodized Finish - for Industrial Applications

High-strength aluminum solid rivets with truss head. 5056/6061 alloy, anodized finish. Sizes 3/32" to 1/4". Ideal for machinery, trailers, & structural joints. Corrosion resistant. Custom sizes available.

Our Truss Head Solid Aluminum Rivets offer a permanent, high-strength fastening solution for a wide range of industrial applications. The broad, slightly domed truss head provides a large bearing surface, distributing load effectively and offering excellent resistance to pull-through. Manufactured from high-strength 5056 or 6061 aluminum alloy and finished with a smooth, clear or colored anodized coating, these rivets are lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and offer a clean, professional appearance.

Primary Uses & Applications
  • Metal Fabrication: Assembling truck bodies, utility trailers, shelving units, and storage containers.
  • Machinery & Equipment: Fastening guards, panels, brackets, and components on agricultural and industrial machinery.
  • Electrical Enclosures: Securing frames and panels on control boxes and switchgear where non-conductivity is beneficial.
  • Marine Hardware: Attaching fittings, hinges, and parts on boats and docks (using 5056 alloy for superior marine corrosion resistance).
  • General Repair: Permanently mending toys, furniture, gates, and playground equipment.
How to Use
  1. Hole Preparation: Drill a clean hole through the materials to be joined. The hole diameter should be very close to the rivet's shank diameter (typically +0.002" to +0.005").
  2. Insertion: Insert the rivet into the hole. The grip length (length of shank in the hole) should be approximately 1.5 times the shank diameter for optimal strength.
  3. Support: Place a solid bucking bar (dolly) firmly against the manufactured truss head.
  4. Upsetting (Bucking): Using a rivet set or a rounded hammer, vigorously hammer the protruding shank end.
  5. Forming the Shop Head: Continue hammering until the shank end expands to about 1.5 times the original shank diameter.
  6. Inspection: A properly set rivet will have a symmetrical shop head and the truss head will be tight against the material.
